This saw has some good staying power for a cordless saw, using the larger of the batteries offered. Limbs 3 inches in diameter are easy, larger ones require more effort, but if cutting green limbs I would say you could get up to 4 or 5 inches, no problem. I also have the 10 inch cordless chainsaw, so I have 2 batteries, so I can always have one charged. The 10 inch saw is also quite impressive!

It kept cutting and cutting and cutting. Piles and piles of wood. Of course, as I cut, I removed the limbs from underfoot so I would not trip while working. I was outside for over three hours. Don't know how long the saw actually cut, but it was still cutting strong as I finished up with my biggest cut-about 10 inches(at about 6 feet off of ground).

The instructions are ludicrous. If you limited yourself to the 60 degree max cutting stance, you would not get most of the limbs needing pruning. I cut many of the limbs with the pole saw straight up and down(you know, 90 degrees). With the many varied ways limbs are situated in the tree, I had to be creative in my angles of attack and cuts. It handled all the cuts. From little twigs, to one inchers , 2 inchers, 3 inchers and above. Cut dried dead wood and green live wood with equal ease.

The weight and length of the pole saw never caused a problem as far as fatigue. It is light and very easy to handle.

I had to keep an eye on the chain tension. I adjusted it at least three times in this cutting session. Just loosen the allen bolt(with supplied allen wrench) and pull out on chain plate(used a drift pin) and then tighten. Simple and fast.

If I bought another pole saw, I could use the extra section of pole(the middle pole-other two are connected to handle/switch and saw) to get some extra length.
Would be worth 80 bucks for an extra couple feet(besides spare saw and handle/switch/battery holder). Might do it later, but for time being if I want extra couple feet, I will rig up an extension with some type of pole attached to handle/switch pole. As long as I can reach the switch.

This product worked great for fist week. The battery, I use from the greenworks trimmer, provides lots of power, cutting ability. Unfortunately it just suddenly quit working completely. I used bar-chain lubricant as written in the instructions since its very first use, and made sure the chain tension was proper (quite easy) before each use. Thought the battery had just run out and needed recharging, but the battery lights showed it was still 3/4 full and checked the battery which immediately ran the chainsaw and trimmer with no problems. Notified greenworks by email and a few days later they asked for more information, which I gave and then no further reply (didn't try the phone number at website). Just decided to return to Amazon. Went ahead and will get a replacement as it worked awesome for those first 4-6 times I used it. Concerned about greenworks support if this second one goes bad outside Amazon's 30 days as I don't have a local greenworks distributor. Amazon customer service was great, and keeps me coming back. One suggestion is to provide a chain tensioning hex tool that could be attached to the trimmer (like the chainsaw one). This product if it will have durability is far superior to the black-decker model, which I also tried but it would only cut about 20 minutes on those Nicad batteries. Wish there was more of a battery compatibility across the different manufacturers as I think this and the craftsman 20volt lithiums are made by same company, but put "prongs" in different spots to prevent cross-compatibility with other (e.g., craftsman 20 volt tools). Will try to update after using second unit. If it hadn't ceased to work after just 1 week, I'd give it 5 stars.
